Our Community Hospitals
ScionHealth’s national, community hospital footprint encompasses 17 acute care campuses with a total of more than 2,100 beds. Our hospitals, spanning 12 states, are typically located in smaller towns stretching from South Carolina to western Idaho.

Our Specialty Hospitals
ScionHealth is proud to be a national leader in specialty hospital care, providing long-term acute care and specialized rehabilitation for tens of thousands of medically complex patients each year, including those recovering from serious injury or illness. Our specialty hospital division is made up of 75 long-term acute care hospitals (LTACHs) in 21 states – operating under the trusted brands of Kindred Hospitals, Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals and Solara Specialty Hospitals.
Awards and Accolades
- All 60 Kindred Hospitals have earned at least one Joint Commission Disease-Specific Certification in Respiratory Failure, Sepsis, Pulmonary Rehabilitation or Wound Care.
- Most Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals have been designated Centers of Excellence from the Center for the Improvement of Healthcare Quality.
- Five Kindred Hospitals were named as Top Performers in Reputation’s 2024 Healthcare Rankings Report by ranking among the Top 20 U.S. Acute Care Hospitals in Reputation Score, including three that ranked in the national top five. Reputation scores are a measure of patient and customer satisfaction and sentiment based on online reviews and star ratings.
- In 2024, 32 ScionHealth locations, including 31 from the Specialty Hospitals Division, received Reputation’s 800 Award for having an online reputation score of 800 or better to end 2023. According to Reputation locations that win the 800 Award consistently collect, analyze and apply consumer feedback, utilizing it to make data-driven decisions.
- All four of the Subacute Units (SAUs) located within ScionHealth’s Kindred Hospitals were recognized on the national list of Best Nursing Homes for 2024 by U.S. News and World Report. The SAUs are located in Kindred Hospital buildings but operate separately from the long-term acute care hospitals and serve their own patient/resident population.
