LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (April 1, 2025) – ScionHealth’s founding Chief Executive Officer, Rob Jay, was recently included in Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2025 list of Great Leaders in Healthcare.

According to Becker’s, the list features executives who “harness cutting-edge digital technology, pioneer new care delivery models, and implement innovative solutions that enhance experiences for patients and providers alike.”

In recognizing Jay, Becker’s pointed out a list of accomplishments that includes his guiding of ScionHealth’s acquisition and integration of Cornerstone Healthcare Group in 2023, and his leadership in recent years as ScionHealth has “reduced reliance on costly contract nursing labor and expanded clinical services across multiple states.” Becker’s also mentioned that under Jay, “ScionHealth partnered with Marshall University to establish the nation’s first rural surgery residency program.”

In addition, Becker’s wrote that Jay “plays a national role in shaping healthcare policy, serving on the board of directors for the Federation of American Hospitals, and the American Hospital Association’s health systems committee.”

Jay has served as ScionHealth’s CEO since its founding in 2021 following a transaction between Brentwood, Tennessee-based Lifepoint Health and Louisville-based Kindred Healthcare. A former Executive Vice President of Integrated Operations at Lifepoint, Jay has helped build ScionHealth as a nationwide health system of 68 specialty hospitals and 17 community hospitals and associated health systems across 27 states.

Jay has been recognized twice as a finalist for Modern Healthcare’s list of the Most Influential People in Healthcare, and he is a past recipient of Louisville Business First’s Most Admired CEOs award for Greater Louisville.
