Kindred Hospitals - Special Statement on Hurricane Idalia

The safety and security of our patients and teammates are paramount to the Kindred Hospital family. Our hearts and minds are with all affected individuals in Florida facing Hurricane Idalia and its aftermath.

Due to the severe nature of Hurricane Idalia, we have safely evacuated all our patients and staff at our Kindred Hospital Bay Area – Tampa and Kindred Hospital Bay Area – St. Petersburg locations to other facilities. Families will be notified when their loved ones are expected to return to these campuses.

We extend our gratitude to all of the dedicated teammates at other Kindred Hospital locations for accepting our transferred patients, and to everyone who accompanied our patients to ensure their safety and uninterrupted care. We also thank our leadership team for their vision, decisiveness, and collaboration in rallying to coordinate the safe transitions of care.

The storm is rapidly changing and we are tracking it, and its potential impacts, closely. Please visit the websites for Kindred Hospital Bay Area – Tampa,  Kindred Hospital Bay Area – St. Petersburg, and Kindred Hospital – Central Tampa for updates and emergency contact numbers.
